The Division of Periodontology came into existence as a division of the Department of Oral Medicine and Periodontology in 1985 at the time the Faculty of Dental Sciences was established. The Division moved to spacious facilities when the new Faculty of Dental Sciences buildings were commissioned in June 1998.
