Udari Abeyasinghes’ voyage began at the University of Peradeniya, where she embarked on a transformative journey toward becoming a dentist. As she stood on the threshold of a new career, she was armed with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree. Enrolling in the Master of Philosophy program at the University of Peradeniya, she plunged into research that would define the trajectory of her career. Guided by Prof. P.R Jayasooriya, she studies the complexities of the "Senescence Associated Secretory Phenotype" and its correlation with the malignant transformation of Oral Submucous Fibrosis. This period was a testament to her adaptability, courage, and persistence as she navigated her research.
Recognizing the importance of holistic education, she pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at the University of Colombo. This endeavor not only sharpened her teaching skills but also allowed her to share her passion for dentistry with the next generation of healthcare professionals. The experience deepened her understanding of education's transformative power and the importance of mentorship. At Present, she is a lecturer attached to the department of Oral Pathology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya.
