The English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) at the Faculty of Dental Sciences aims to improve the English language skills of the Dental undergraduates. ELTU conducts regular classes for first year (1st BDS) dental undergraduates. The BDS programme (Bachelor of Dental Sciences) at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya is conducted in English language. All the teaching material is in English. Therefore a good command of English is expected from the undergraduates. The ELTU conducts courses that are designed after careful consideration of students’ needs and faculty priorities. The lesson material is revamped and updated to suit the current needs.
