  Biography:

Professor R Manori Jayasinghe is a dental specialist in restorative dentistry including prosthodontics with over 20 years’ experience in teaching, clinical dental practice, research, and leadership.Prof Jayasinghe has academic/professional qualifications in clinical dentistry, prosthetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, periodontology and paediatric dentistry.

    Professor RM Jayasinghe is interested in collaborative research work with multidisciplinary teams in the following areas;

    • Use of AI in diagnosis and prediction of prognosis of dental procedures and outcome
    • Use of e learning in education
    • Improvement of quality of life with replacing missing teeth with dental implants
    • Development of dental biomaterials

     Ongoing Research Projects

  • Synthesis and scaling up of the production of gypsum and hemihydrate calcium sulphate (Plaster) for dental applications from used dental products via recycling through chemical and physical processes and from local minerals

  • Use of AI in diagnosis and planning of dental implants

  • Single vs two dental implant retained mandibular over dentures: Comparison of function, patient satisfaction, oral health related quality of life and success of treatment

  • Denture hygiene and self-reported denture hygiene practices among a group of denture wearers attending a university dental hospital
