Course admission and selection

A qualified dental surgery assistant will be able to carry out a multitude of tasks including the following,

Preparing the patient for treatment
Sterilizing instruments
Assisting the procedure (passing instruments, holding suction devices)
Exposing dental radiographs

Eligibility for admission
To be considered for admission as a candidate in this course one must have the following qualifications,

1. Should,
a. Have passed the General Certificate of Education (Advance Level) or an equivalent examination.
OR
b. Have completed a foundation course of SLFQ level 2 and passed the aptitude test conducted by DATS
OR
c. Have completed 3 years work experience as an untrained Dental Surgery Assistant in an institute acceptable to the board of management of DATS

2. Should not be more than 30 years of age

Further these applicants will be interviewed by an interview board appointed by DATS board of Management.

Course admission and selection

A qualified dental technician will be skilled in the construction of,

Removable prosthesis
Fixed prosthesis
Orthodontic appliances

To be considered for admission as a candidate in this course one must have the following qualifications,

1. Should,

a. Have a minimum number of a pass for English at the GCE (O/L) examination and passed 3 subjects at the GCE (A/L) examination or equivalent exam
OR
b. Have completed a course of NVQF level 5 or a foundation course equivalent to SLFQ level 2
OR
c. Have 3 years work experience as an untrained dental technician

2. Should not be more than 30 years of age

Further these applicants will be interviewed by an interview board appointed by DATS board of Management.
