Diploma in Dental Assisting

Program Outcomes

A qualified dental surgery assistant will be able to carry out a multitude of tasks including the following:

  • Preparing the patient for treatment
  • Sterilizing instruments
  • Assisting the procedure (passing instruments, holding suction devices)
  • Exposing dental radiographs
Admission & Eligibility
1. Academic or Experience Requirement (Must meet ONE of the following):
a.
Have passed the General Certificate of Education (Advance Level) or an equivalent examination.
OR
b.
Have completed a foundation course of SLFQ level 2 and passed the aptitude test conducted by DATS.
OR
c.
Have completed 3 years work experience as an untrained Dental Surgery Assistant in an institute acceptable to the board of management of DATS.
2. Age Limit Should not be more than 30 years of age.
Further, these applicants will be interviewed by an interview board appointed by the DATS Board of Management.

Higher Diploma in Dental Technology

Program Outcomes

A qualified dental technician will be skilled in the construction of:

  • Removable prosthesis
  • Fixed prosthesis
  • Orthodontic appliances
Admission & Eligibility
1. Academic or Experience Requirement (Must meet ONE of the following):
a.
Have a minimum number of a pass for English at the GCE (O/L) examination and passed 3 subjects at the GCE (A/L) examination or equivalent exam.
OR
b.
Have completed a course of NVQF level 5 or a foundation course equivalent to SLFQ level 2.
OR
c.
Have 3 years work experience as an untrained dental technician.
2. Age Limit Should not be more than 30 years of age.
Further, these applicants will be interviewed by an interview board appointed by the DATS Board of Management.
