The Faculty of Dental Sciences, Peradeniya has been admitting international students for many years. Students are admitted for elective clinical studentships in the professorial units, which consist of clinical attachments lasting for 2 to 3 months.

Few years back the faculty started to admit international students to its undergraduate dental course. Students from Bhutan, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, Bangladesh, etc. have successfully completed the dental course and continue to do so. These students are sponsored by their Governments and are scholarship holders from that country.

International students of the Faculty consist of:

• Certificate courses
• Overseas dental undergraduates
