The Division provides consultant service in diagnosis and treatment for patients with orofacial medical conditions. Treatment may include drug therapy, cryotherapy, laser therapy etc and sometimes in- patient care. Our Division also provides Haematological and limited biochemical investigations to aid diagnosis and management of patients attending the dental hospital free of charge.

Furthermore, this Division provides basic general and Dental radiography services. Intra oral radiography is the mainstay of Dental radiology, which also includes, extra oral imaging like OPG and Cephalograms. Our Division provides with other imaging techniques like Sialography, Ultrasonography and advanced imaging such as Cone Beam Computer Tomography (CBCT) to all the clinical Departments and Divisions of the Faculty of Dental Sciences and also to the OPD section of the Dental hospital. It also extends its services to the neighboring hospitals, such as Teaching Hospital Kandy, Peradeniya, Sirimavo Bandaranayake Specialized Hospital for children, Base Hospital Kadugannawa and also Provincial General Hospital Badulla where certain radiology facilities are not available.
