    Formatting Guidelines for the Abstract

    A space must be kept between the last digit and the unit

    Abbreviations

    Should be cited in full at the first occurrence except for standard abbreviations.

    Title

    Should be brief and interesting to the reader
    Font size 12, bold, Lower-case letters except the first letter of a word, centre aligned.
    One line space should be left below the title

    Names of authors

    Font size 11, bold, centre aligned
    Lowercase except initials and the first letter of the name.
    Initials (each initial should be followed by a full-stop and a space) should be followed by the surname/last name.
    The corresponding author's name should be indicated by an
    asterisk at the beginning of the name. 
    One-line space should be left between the name/s and affiliation/s.

    Affiliations

    Font size 11, italics, lowercase letters, centre aligned (with uppercase letters where necessary). Whenever the work has been carried out in several Institutes/Departments, the addresses should be numbered using superscript numbers at the beginning of each address. The respective author should be marked with the same superscript number at the end of the author’s name.
    The corresponding author's email address should be preceded by an asterisk in superscript, which should be provided in a separate line immediately below the affiliations. 
    A two-line space should be left between affiliations and the body of the text.

    Body of the abstract

    Font size 11, justified, should include an introduction, objectives, materials & methods, results, and a conclusion.
    However, it should be written without subheadings with a  0.5-inch indent at the beginning of each paragraph.

    • Body of the abstract should include

    Introduction –why is your work important? Does it fill any gaps in knowledge or research? What is the context?

    • Objectives - What are the objectives? What is your hypothesis?

     

    • Materials & Methods What is the study design? What was done, by whom, how and where? What measurements were taken and how were the data analyzed?
    • Results What did you find and how significant were your findings? Please indicate the results in the form of data; it is not sufficient to indicate data in subjective terms

     

    • Conclusion What is your overall finding? Is the reported finding a part of a bigger piece of research? What are the suggestions for future work?
    • One line space should be left between the body of the abstract and keywords

    Keywords

    The subtitle ‘keywords’ should be bold. Maximum of 5 keywords can be given. Font size 11, lower case letters, left aligned

    One line space should be left between the keywords and the acknowledgement

    Acknowledgement

    Acknowledge only for financial assistance (if you have 
    received any)
    Font size 11, lower case Italic letters, centre aligned
