Speech Therapy Unit

Like all other children, children born with cleft lip and palate acquire speech from the very first day of life, but the cleft lip and palate can affect their normal development of speech. They may present with different speech abnormalities late in their life.

Early surgical intervention is the key to improve child's speech mechanism. As the child grows up, continuous speech therapy should be provided to improve child's communication.
