The English Language Teaching Unit is committed to enhancing the English language proficiency of students of the Faculty of Dental Sciences and supporting their academic, professional and personal development through effective English language education. The Unit provides English language instruction designed specifically to meet the needs of dental undergraduates, with an emphasis on developing the communication skills required in university education, professional settings and everyday life. Our programmes integrate English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for General Purposes (EGP), enabling students to develop the language skills necessary for academic success while also building confidence and competence in real-life communication. The Unit's work extends beyond classroom teaching. We provide additional guidance to students who require support, contribute to student co-curricular activities, and conduct English language programmes for non-academic staff members of the Faculty upon request.
To foster confident, competent and effective English language users who are equipped to communicate successfully in academic, professional and social contexts.
To provide relevant, learner-centered English language education that responds to the academic and professional needs of dental undergraduates while supporting the wider Faculty community through language instruction, student guidance and co-curricular engagement.
