The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Faculty of Dental Sciences successfully hosted a workshop on procurement procedures on July 22, 2025, at the Faculty of Dental Sciences with the participation of over 40 academic and non-academic staff members. Ms. U.D.P.M. Yasanayake, Accountant – Teaching Hospital Peradeniya and Mr. B.M.I.A.K. Basnayaka, Senior Assistant Bursar – Faculty of Engineering delivered an engaging and informative session, sharing their valuable insights and expertise.
The workshop covered key topics such as:
- Basic knowledge on budget preparation and relevant approvals
- TEC report writing in detail
- Preparation of specification
- How to use Standard Bidding Documents
- Approval limits
- Shopping and direct purchase method with authority limits
- Correspondence with Foreign supplier
The session successfully equipped the staff with essential procurement knowledge, ensuring smoother and more compliant administrative processes moving forward.
