Professor R Manori Jayasinghe is a dental specialist in restorative dentistry including prosthodontics with over 20 years’ experience in teaching, clinical dental practice, research, and leadership. Prof Jayasinghe has academic/professional qualifications in clinical dentistry, prosthetic dentistry, restorative dentistry, periodontology and paediatric dentistry. She had worked at the Teaching Hospital Kurunegala and Sirimavo Bandaranayake Specialized Children’s Hospital Peradeniya as a consultant in restorative dentistry before joining the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya. She has collaborated with multiple national and international institutions/organizations of learning/teaching and research. Prof Jayasinghe has over 50 peer reviewed publications, with many citations. She had contributed nine educational videos on clinical and laboratory procedures in prosthetic dentistry to multiple book chapters. She has received multidisciplinary Research Grants 2023 for the research project of synthesis and scaling up of the production of gypsum and hemihydrate calcium sulphate (plaster) for dental applications from used dental products via recycling through chemical and physical processes and from local minerals. She received university research grants in 2019, 2018 & 2016 and SLDA research grant in 2012. She has been recognized for her research work with multiple awards including commendable contribution to research at the faculty in 2018 to 2022. Prof Jayasinghe has contributed to the professional associations by holding several positions including President Sri Lanka Dental Association Kandy branch in 2017 and Secretary in 2012. She was the assistant editor for the Peradeniya University Research Journal ‘Hantana Vision’. Prof Jayasinghe has contributed for continuing professional development programs as a resource person in guest lecturers, symposia and workshops. She delivered Professor K Bambaradeniya memorial oration in 2023. She has an excellent clinical experience at the specialist level in prosthodontics, implant dentistry, digital dentistry and restorative dentistry.
