The education of health professionals depends on the study of the structure of the human body through a full body dissection. A group of 10 dental students are provided with one body for dissection. The Division of Anatomy, Department of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, has established a whole body donation programme to acquire the bodies for this purpose.
* The Faculty of Dental Sciences offer following postgraduate degrees at present:
Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph D)
Degree of Master of Philosophy (M Phil)
These courses could be followed either full time or part time in any discipline in the Faculty of Dental Sciences.
These programmes consist of a taught course and a research component.
