Biography

Dr. Randilini Angammana is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya. She earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2014 with First Class Honours, topping her batch and receiving seven distinctions. Her exceptional academic performance was recognized with multiple awards, including the M.A.B. Brito Muthunayagam Gold Medal and the SLDA Gold Medal for the Best Student of the Year.
She completed her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Dental Sciences at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Japan, supported by the prestigious MEXT Japanese Government Scholarship. During her doctoral studies, she contributed significantly to research in dental sciences, with multiple publications in high-impact journals. Her research interests include craniofacial anatomy, dental histology, and the application of advanced imaging techniques in dentistry.

Dr. Angammana has held academic positions at the University of Peradeniya since 2014, progressing from Temporary Lecturer to Senior Lecturer. She is actively involved in curriculum development and coordinates key courses in general anatomy for undergraduate and diploma programs. Her teaching excellence extends to training for MD preparatory courses and professional diploma programs in dental surgery assistance and dental technology. A dedicated researcher, Dr. Angammana supervises undergraduate projects and has contributed to numerous national and international conferences. Her recent work focuses on anatomical variations and their clinical implications in dentistry.
Beyond academia, Dr. Angammana serves as a mentor and senior student counselor, demonstrating her commitment to student welfare and development. She also actively participates in professional organizations, holding leadership roles such as President Elect of the SLDA-Kandy branch and Editor for the College of Dentistry and Stomatology Sri Lanka. Dr. Angammana is a life member of the Sri Lanka Dental Association and the Anatomical Society of Sri Lanka, underscoring her dedication to advancing dental education and research in Sri Lanka.
