On 3rd October 2026, students of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya organized an Oral Health Awareness Programme in memory of their late colleague, Thivin Saahithyan (2020/2021 batch), whose legacy continues to inspire meaningful community service.
The program brought together children from Ramakrishna Sarada Mission and St. Francis Brothers’ Home, Matale, providing them with valuable oral hygiene education, awareness on oral cancer prevention, engaging recreational activities, and a nourishing lunch.
We were honored by the presence of Prof. Shyama Banneheka, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, and Rev. Fr. Mark of St. Francis Brothers’ Home, whose support and encouragement added great value to the event.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and generosity to make this initiative a success. Together, we continue to promote oral health awareness while honoring a cherished member of our faculty community.
