Read on to find out about our unique body donation programme.

The education of health professionals depends on the study of the structure of the human body through a full body dissection. A group of 10 dental students are provided with one body for dissection. The Division of Anatomy, Department of Basic Sciences at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, has established a whole body donation programme to acquire the bodies for this purpose. All donations are placed at the Division of Anatomy, with the remains after dissection eventually are cremated or accessioned into the “Anatomy Museum” in the Division of Anatomy.
